Curiouser & Curiouser — I was talking about the “Toulouse Deformity” (deliberate cranial modification using a tight cap or bands of cloth) with some friends the other day. I thought it might be a worthwhile subject to link to here. France’s history of body modification– from permanently marking the skin to purposefully shaping the skull– is as interesting as it is long.
