I mean, it hasn’t really happened for me yet. I still have a ton of ideas for things I want to write about. My only problem is that a lot of other people want me to write stuff, too.
The Yuletide season brings a lot of celebration, but it also brings a lot of bills. I’ve been taking on more writing projects (don’t get too excited– the world of SEO is less than scintillating) and, to be honest, after I’ve spent the day cranking out bits on tree pests, chronic sinus problems, and how to properly fit a dog for a dog harness, it’s hard to keep up my blogging energy. It’s less fun to update your own blog when you’re ghostwriting content for other people’s, you know?
I do have a buffer of articles I can post, but not all of them are good for this time of year and I’d like to space out the pre-written stuff instead of leaning on it super heavily right now. I’d write more about the work I’m doing, but it’s never really struck me as being terribly interesting. (Well, unless you’d like five hundred words on True Facts About Leaf Miners.) I’m not really going on hiatus, either– just slowing down a bit until the holidays are over.
I’ve also decided to space out the remainder of the 30 Day Tarot Challenge. It’s been a learning experience and a ton of fun, but it requires a bit more concentration than I have to offer right now. I might do it twice a week, maybe Tuesday and Thursday?
One benefit of this is that it’s encouraged me to be more active on my Instagram. I’ve been posting more drawings and witchy projects I’ve been working on, which has been a lot of fun. It’s not going to take the place of blogging for me, but it’s neat to mess around with. I’ve also been doing more creative writing with my S.O., which is always a pleasure.
Has the holiday season kept you busy?
